Increase your awareness on how to reduce, reuse, and recycle to help keep the earth clean and healthy. Turn trash into treasured works of eco-friendly art using recycled materials. Conduct an audit of waste produced at the Olum Center and check out the recycling center on campus.

Rock-O-Rama features experienced instructors from the university and community. It offers an intimate camp experience for children with its limited enrollment and “recreation for life” approach. Summer campers learn essential climbing skills every day in a fun, challenging, and supportive environment. Instructors teach climbing technique, knot tying, belaying, rappelling, and clear communication. Our days include team building challenges and games to help build agility, self-esteem, responsibility, and confidence. Each week has a variety of individual and team challenges at the rock wall with the focus more on individual mastery than on competition. The camp is limited to 15 participants with at least 2 instructors.

Group activities may include tumbling, tennis, basketball, soccer, floor hockey, baseball, dodge ball, rock climbing and various games. All campers receive swim instruction and swim time. If you are an older student interested in developing leadership skills and earning up to 130 community service hours, we provide an opportunity to participate in SEP as a Junior Counselor. During morning class, JCs learn leadership tools that help enhance self-confidence, motivation, verbal communications, creative problem solving, and conflict resolution skills. When not in class, JCs work with staff members to create and supervise projects, activities, and excursions for campers, acting as mentors, friends, and confidantes to younger students. JCs also receive support and a head start with resume writing, interviewing, and applying to colleges--including essay writing, time management, and budget creation.

Super Summer classes are designed to challenge and stimulate participants learning while having FUN! Classes are designed for advanced learners and TAG students completing grades K-5 this school year. These highly-engaging learning experiences encourage critical thinking, creativity, independent learning, and are always hands-on. Advanced learners need time with intellectual peers as well as age-peers. They have found that opportunity at UO Super Summer for 32 years! Teachers are trained professionals from local schools and the community who have demonstrated their intense interest in areas taught and their understanding of the special needs of advanced learners. Classes focus on math, science, literature and writing, visual and performing arts, creative problem-solving, cultural studies, robotics and more.
HOURS 9:00 – 3:00 plus pre- and post-program extended care
Participants can choose 1, 2 or 3 classes from a menu of offerings. Students attend the each selected class for the entire three weeks of the program.MORNINGS offer an extended session that allows for rare in-depth involvement in an area of high interest. These project courses are designed to enable focused, passionate learning. Participants make their class choice from a variety of offerings.
AFTERNOONS offer two shorter class sessions in which curious learners explore new topics designed to satisfy the curiosity and open new horizons. Relaxing, hands-on and stimulating.
LUNCHTIME provides opportunities for a little down time or more stimulating learning activities including demonstrations, competitions, special guests, outdoor quiet corner and active playground. Participants choose each day those activities they would like to pursue.

Immerse yourself in all aspects of the theater from character creation, costumes and set design, and performance. Go behind the scenes and tour local theaters, including the Hult Center, UO Robinson Theater, and the Wildish Theater. Watch a play by the Mad Duckling Children's Theater.
