  35. Super Summer classes are designed to challenge and stimulate participants learning while having FUN! Classes are designed for advanced learners and TAG students completing grades K-5 this school year. These highly-engaging learning experiences encourage critical thinking, creativity, independent learning, and are always hands-on. Advanced learners need time with intellectual peers as well as age-peers. They have found that opportunity at UO Super Summer for 32 years! Teachers are trained professionals from local schools and the community who have demonstrated their intense interest in areas taught and their understanding of the special needs of advanced learners. Classes focus on math, science, literature and writing, visual and performing arts, creative problem-solving, cultural studies, robotics and more.

HOURS 9:00 – 3:00 plus pre- and post-program extended care
Participants can choose 1, 2 or 3 classes from a menu of offerings. Students attend the each selected class for the entire three weeks of the program.

MORNINGS offer an extended session that allows for rare in-depth involvement in an area of high interest. These project courses are designed to enable focused, passionate learning. Participants make their class choice from a variety of offerings.

AFTERNOONS offer two shorter class sessions in which curious learners explore new topics designed to satisfy the curiosity and open new horizons. Relaxing, hands-on and stimulating.

LUNCHTIME provides opportunities for a little down time or more stimulating learning activities including demonstrations, competitions, special guests, outdoor quiet corner and active playground. Participants choose each day those activities they would like to pursue.
