A strange invitation arrives by owl one day*. Inscribed on parchment paper, it hints at a strange world full of magical creatures, powerful wizards, and mysterious spells. Signed in green ink by Headmaster Hibiscus Menzies, it tells you that you are headed to the Corvis School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!Upon arrival you are sorted into your houses and handed your class list. It shows the following classes:
* Herbology (the study of plants and their uses)
* Transfiguration (how to become like an animal)
* Divination (using your sixth sense, intuition)
* Defense Against the Dark Arts (protection from dark wizards)
* Care and Study of Magical Creatures (tracking and animal studies)
* Invisibility (how to travel unseen in the magic forest)
* Plus, there is a poster on the wall that says there are tryouts for a strange game called Quidditch!Have fun, you are in for a magical experience!

Super Summer classes are designed to challenge and stimulate participants learning while having FUN! Classes are designed for advanced learners and TAG students completing grades K-5 this school year. These highly-engaging learning experiences encourage critical thinking, creativity, independent learning, and are always hands-on. Advanced learners need time with intellectual peers as well as age-peers. They have found that opportunity at UO Super Summer for 32 years! Teachers are trained professionals from local schools and the community who have demonstrated their intense interest in areas taught and their understanding of the special needs of advanced learners. Classes focus on math, science, literature and writing, visual and performing arts, creative problem-solving, cultural studies, robotics and more.
HOURS 9:00 – 3:00 plus pre- and post-program extended care
Participants can choose 1, 2 or 3 classes from a menu of offerings. Students attend the each selected class for the entire three weeks of the program.MORNINGS offer an extended session that allows for rare in-depth involvement in an area of high interest. These project courses are designed to enable focused, passionate learning. Participants make their class choice from a variety of offerings.
AFTERNOONS offer two shorter class sessions in which curious learners explore new topics designed to satisfy the curiosity and open new horizons. Relaxing, hands-on and stimulating.
LUNCHTIME provides opportunities for a little down time or more stimulating learning activities including demonstrations, competitions, special guests, outdoor quiet corner and active playground. Participants choose each day those activities they would like to pursue.
